Celestine Okonkwo is a legal practitioner whose profile is fast rising. He is indeed among the class of lawyers who are vibrant, enterprising and extending the frontiers of the legal profession. He enjoyed the privilege of being nominated for call to the Nigerian Bar by very distinguished legal luminaries including Hon. Justice G.A. Oguntade of the Supreme Court and Professor Oduyemi Osinbajo, the incumbent Vice President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. He is the Founder and Principal Partner of Celestine Okonkwo & Associates (Pentaville Chambers).

Celestine was born on November 16, 1966 and is an indigene of Umuoba Anam in Anambra East Local Government Area of Anambra State. He attended All Hallows Seminary School, Onitsha where he obtained the General Certificate of Education in 1987. He bagged the Bachelor of Law (LL.B) degree from the then Edo State University, Ekpoma in 1998 and was eventually called to the Nigerian Bar after passing out of the Nigerian Law School, Bwari, Abuja in 2000.

He qualified as a Notary Public in 2012. He started out in legal practice in 1999 as an attachee at the law firm of Ronke Harrison at Onikan, Lagos. He had also worked as a counsel in the firms of Henry Onukwugha & Co (2000 – 2001) and Ejimofor & Ejimofor (2002 – 2003) until 2004 when he established his own chambers.

He is a bonafide member of the Nigerian Bar Association, the Institute of Fraud Examiners and the African Business School. He has attended various courses and workshops including the Fraud Examiners Training at the University of Tesside, England. He attended the Case Management and Research Skills Workshop by the Continuing Legal Education Committee, Lagos.

Okonkwo is married and his hobbies include reading, playing lawn tennis and chess.
