He is one Nigerian who has made very impressive contributions to the field of education. He is an effective teacher and school administrator. Not only that, he is an active clergyman in the Church of Nigeria, Anglican Communion.
Little wonder, his core personal values are diligence, integrity, creativity, efficiency and accountability. Rev. Bamidele Adesina Osunyomi is the incumbent Principal/Chaplain of Bishop Howells Memorial Grammar School, Bariga, Lagos.
Born on July 13, 1976, Bamidele Osunyomi is an indigene of Lagos State. He has passed through various levels of both secular and theological education.
He graduated from the Lagos State University, Ojo in the year 2000 with a B.Sc (Education) in Physical and Health Education. He went on to the University of Ibadan to study for a Diploma in Religious Studies, graduating with an Upper Credit in 2012.
In 2014, he bagged a Diploma in Theology from Archbishop Vining College of Theology, Akure, Ondo State. Before that, he had studied for and obtained a Certificate in Language and Ministerial Studies at the Crowther Graduate Theological Seminary, Abeokuta in 2013.
He has undergone training in other areas. He has a Certificate of Attendance of the Citizen and Leadership Training Centre, Apapa, Lagos (2008); Certificate of Attendance in Leadership Training at the Haggai Institute International (2014); Certificate of Training, James Lynic Computer Resource Centre and Certificate of Participation in School Management/Administration Training, Centre for Educational Development, Asokoro, Abuja. He is a Fellow of the Institute of Professional Managers and Administrators of Nigeria. He is also a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Educational Management and Administration, USA.
Rev. Osunyomi also has certifications in the religious sphere. He has a Certificate of Participation in the Prison Chaplaincy Course of Archbishop Vining College of Theology, Akure (2014) and Certificate of Participation in the 2014 Hospital Chaplaincy Course of the same college. He also has the Chaplaincy Course Certificate of The Boys Brigade of Nigeria, Ondo State Council.
Osunyomi taught at Echo Tutorial Centre, Iba Estate, Iba, Lagos from 1995 to 1997. He also taught at Ojo High School, Ojo, Lagos as Student Teacher/Part-Time Tutor from 1997 to 1998. He was at Command Day Secondary School, Ojo between 1998 and 1999 as student Teacher/Part – Time Tutor.
He did his National Youth Service as Tutor and House Master at Bishop Crowther Juinor Seminary, Awka, Anambra State from May, 2001 to May 2002. He later taught at St. Paul University Secondary School, Nibo, Awka.
He was Director, Senior Management Staff and College Administrator at Stars International College, Ikorodu, Lagos State from May 2002 to June 2014.
He was Head of School/Chaplain of Christ Anglican Junior Seminary, Ilogbo – Eremi, Badagry, Lagos State from July 2014 to September 2015. He has been Director/Chief Executive Officer of Success Educational Consultancy Services since 2007. Osunyomi became Principal/Chaplain of Bishop Howells Memorial Grammar School, Bariga in November, 2015.
Within the priesthood of the Church of Nigeria, he has served diligently through the rungs. He started out as Sunday School Teacher at Holy Trinity Anglican Church, Ikorodu in 1996. He became Church Agent of Anglican Church, Owo Ibeshe, Ikorodu in 2004. Between August 2006 and Janurary 2009, he served as Parish Agent/Archdeaconry at Holy Trinity Anglican Church, Ikorodu. He also served as Church Agent at Joshua Shofunwa Memorial Anglican Church, Ibeshe, Ikorodu.
He was made Curate of Christ Church, Ilogbo – Eremi, Badagry in July, 2014. He became Superintending Vicar of Church of the Redeemer, Sunny Field, Magbon Badagry in November 2014. In November 2015, he was made Chaplain of Chapel of Grace, Bishop Howells Memorial Grammar School, Bariga, Lagos – a position he still occupies. He is also the Cathedral Priest of St. Thomas, Diocese of Badagry, Anglican Communion.
It is in recognition of his contribution to national development in the area of Management and Development of Education that Rev. Bamidele Adesina Osunyomi is deemed worthy to be conferred with the Development in Nigeria Merit Award.
