Nigeria’s Chief of Army Staff, Lt. Gen. Tukur Buratai has vowed that the Army will not allow separatist groups in the country to have their way.
Speaking after he received the ‘Millenium Hero Award’ from a coalition of civil society groups in Abuja on Monday, Buratai said: “Having been given the millenium hero award, I want to call on all the agitators for separation and other acts of destabilisation, they better forget it, not in this era, not in this millennium.”
On a sarcastic note, the general said those agitating for separation should wait for the next three or four millennia to see if the Army at that time will allow them to separate.
