The Lagos State Government has resolved to beef up security in the Epe axis of the state to curb incessant cases of kidnapping.

The state’s Commissioner of Police, Mr. Fatai Owoseni gave the assurance on Tuesday  while briefing journalists after the monthly security council meeting chaired by Governor Akinwunmi Ambode.

Owoseni said after the council reviewed the security situation in the state in the last one month, it became expedient for the force to double its efforts at ensuring the well-being of residents and provide a conducive environment for prospective investors in the state.

“The council has looked at the security situation in the state in the last one month and the conclusion we reached is that it has been relatively calm here and there. We need to do more of interventions with the view of doubling our efforts. We have identified the challenged areas and the commitment from the Governor, Mr. Akinwunmi Ambode remains unwavering that everything that would secure Lagos and make business and commercial activities to be carried out without hindrance will be done,” he said.

He further revealed that the ban on motorcycles in the state would be sustained, stating that although it was difficult to completely eradicate crime, the state government was working round the clock to ensure that cases of kidnapping in the Epe axis of the state are brought to an end.
