Nigerian security agencies have pledged their unalloyed loyalty to President Muhammadu Buhari who is on extended medical vacation in the United Kingdom.

Their pledge was made by the Minister of Defense, Mansur Dan-Ali on behalf of the Service Chiefs while briefing Acting President Yemi Osinbajo at the end of their meeting on Wednesday.

“On behalf the Armed Forces and other security agencies, we pledge our total commitment and loyalty to the President and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Nigeria,” Dan-Ali said.

While thanking the government for its adequate funding that has enabled the military to carry out its operations, the defense minister assured the Acting President that with continuous aerial surveillance and improved military equipment, terrorism would soon be a thing of the past in the North-East and other troubled regions of the country.

In attendance during the meeting were Babagana Monguno, the National Security Adviser; Tukur Buratai, the Chief of Army Staff ; Gabriel Olonisakin, the Chief of Defense Staff; Chief of Air Staff, Abubakar Sadique; Chief of Naval Staff, Ibas Ibok;  Lawal Daura, the Director-General of the Department of State Services (DSS) as well as the Inspector-General of Police, Ibrahim Idris.
