Nigeria’s Directorate of State Services (DSS) has said it thwarted plots by Boko Haram to attack the British and US embassies in Abuja, the nation’s capital.
In an e-mailed statement released by the agency on Wednesday, DSS claimed “the group had perfected plans to attack the UK and American embassies and other western interests in Abuja.”
The security service also said it had arrested five suspected members of the Islamist militant group in Benue State while another member who was apprehended in Yobe State on March 22 confessed and gave details of the planned assault.
