The Minister of Defence, Mansur Dan-Ali, has hailed the performance of Acting President, Professor Yemi Osinbajo in reducing oil theft and vandalisation of oil pipelines in the Niger Delta.
He commended Osinbajo on Monday while briefing State House Correspondents after he and other security chiefs met with the Acting President, at the Presidential Villa in Abuja.
He said the meeting which was attended by top government officials including the National Security Adviser (NSA), Babagana Monguno, Chief of Defence Staff (CDS), Gabriel Olonishakin and Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi discussed pending issues of the Federal Executive Council (FEC) particularly those having to do with maritime surveillance.
“There is a pending issue of the Federal Executive Council meeting that we wanted to resolve on maritime surveillance and it has been resolved,” Dan-Ali said.
“The Acting President has been meeting with the communities. We have been able to save many communities from oil-pipeline bombings and oil theft. It is a big achievement and I believe that the Acting President has been doing well in that direction,” he added.
