The Leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu has said he will listen to any advice given to him by Second Republic Vice President of Nigeria, Dr Alex Ekwueme.
Kanu made the remark Wednesday when he paid a courtesy visit to Ekwueme in his Enugu home.
The IPOB leader stated that his main purpose for visiting the former vice president was to seek wise counsel, noting that Ekwueme remains invaluable to the quest for the advancement of the Igbo people. Kanu told Ekwueme:
“I am humbled and delighted to be here before you and to bring you up-to-date on what we have been doing; what motivates me to do what I do and what motivates IPOB today to do what we have been doing.
“So I’ve come here today to meet my father and to explain why we do what we do and also get his blessings on going forward. Anything you tell me to do is what we are going to do as far as it advances our collective cause as a people and pushes us to the pinnacle of success on what we want to do.”
Earlier in his welcome speech, Ekwueme stated that IPOB’s agitation for self actualization is in pursuit of equity and justice among all peoples of Nigeria, especially the Igbo.
He also said he was delighted to receive Kanu in his house and offered to privately advice him on ways to carry out his agitation for the restoration of a Biafra republic.
“It is a pleasure for me to receive him. I will make my best counsel available in his task of leading an agitation that is committed to maintenance of justice and equity among all people, especially our people.” Ekwueme said.
