A delegation of Nigerian governors led by the Chairman of the Nigerian Governors Forum and governor of Zamfara State, Abdulaziz Yari on Wednesday visited ailing President Muhammadu Buhari in London.
Other governors who embarked on the trip that was announced by Presidential spokespersons, Femi Adesina, Garba Shehu and Laolu Akande on Tuesday, were Dave Umahi (Ebonyi state), Udom Emmanuel (Akwa Ibom State), Umar Ganduje (Kano State), Kashim Shettima (Borno State), Samuel Ortom (Benue State) and Abiola Ajimobi of Oyo State.
The governors who have been speaking individually to reporters since the visit have been very optimistic about the President’s health.
Governor Dave Umahi who was elected under the platform of the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) described Buhari’s recovery as a miracle, adding that the visit had opened his eyes to the kind of false information Nigerians were being fed with by social media sites.
On Sunday, governors Rochas Okorocha (Imo State), Yahaya Bello (Kogi State), Nasir El-Rufai (Kaduna), Umar Tanko Al-Makura (Nasarawa ) also visited the President in Abuja House, Nigeria’s official residence in London.
