Former US President, Barack Obama has sent unusual words of encouragement to highly respected American statesman and senator, John McCain who has just been diagnosed with brain cancer.

Obama who had an epic presidential race against a most formidable McCain in 2008 has tweeted: “John McCain is an American hero & one of the bravest fighters I’ve ever known. Cancer doesn’t know what it’s up against. Give it hell, John.”
