Nigeria’s Acting President, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo has said that despite the numerous challenges facing the economy of the country, Nigerians were still keeping faith with the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
In a statement signed by Senior Special Assistant on Media and Publicity in the Presidency, Laolu Akande shortly after the Federal Government and Progressive Governors’ Forum meeting in Birnin Kebbi, Kebbi State on Tuesday, Prof. Osinbajo reiterated the government’s commitment towards uplifting the living standard of all Nigerians.
“The ideological difference that we represent is that we are committed to an economic policy that has as its core, the welfare and happiness of Nigerians,” Osinbajo said.
He added: “The people have not lost faith in us, they understand that the task of clearing decades of debris will take time but we must also jointly keep faith with them”.
He emphasised that the promise of a better life for Nigerians made by the ruling party will be delivered and achieved through collaboration and a perfect synergy between the federal and state governments in making sure that available resources are used for their intended purposes.
He also advised all state governors elected under the platform of the APC to make extra efforts at ensuring that the promises they made to their electorates were fulfilled.
