Members of Nigeria’s House of Representatives have stated that their stance that former President Olusegun Obasanjo is the ‘grandfather of corruption’ in the country remains unchanged.
In a statement released on Tuesday by the Chairman of its Committee on Media and Public Affairs, Abdulrazak Namdas, the representatives posited that their assessment of Obasanjo remained what was ’fully captured’ by the House in 2016.
Namdas said attacking the National Assembly had always been Obasanjo’s past time hence they would not respond to any allegations of corruption brought by Obasanjo against them.
“We won’t respond to any corruption allegations by Obasanjo against us anymore. We have replied him enough and our position remains what we said earlier. It has not changed,” Namda said.
“I refer you to our comprehensive position on Obasanjo in 2016. That is still our position,” he added.
Obasanjo had while addressing an audience at a forum in Minna, the Niger State capital on Monday, described constituency projects and allocations as nothing but corruption.
