The estranged wife of the Ooni of Ife, Olori Wuraola has confirmed reports that her marriage to the monarch has collapsed.
Queen Wuraola, who has now changed her name back to Zainab Otiti Obanor on her Instagram page, debunked reports about the cause of their separation but failed to give reasons for the breakup.
Wuraola, who had been silent over the issue since it broke out on social media, however hinted that possible domestic violence could be responsible for the separation and advised people and media houses against spreading false information.
Said Olori Wuraola: “What I can confirm is that the Ooni and I are no more. I inhale love and exhale gratitude. My journey continues as a Humanitarian, aiding women and victims of domestic violence and abuse with the United Nations.
“No matter how much time you’ve invested, no matter the use of media to silence and manipulate, no matter the circumstance, slander, embarrassment, threats and lies: Get out and seek immediate help!,” Wuraola said on Twitter.
She described the culture of shaming and vilifying women with false stories of infidelity as the mark of cowards who use it as a cover up to justify their horrific actions.
