The Chairman of the South – East Governors’ Forum and Ebonyi State governor, Mr. David Umahi on Monday stated that the forum has concluded arrangements to re-absorb, rehabilitate and empower youths who were misled by the agitations of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB)..

Speaking during the Ebonyi Peace Day Celebration in Ezillo, the Ishielu Local Government Area headquarters, Governor Umahi directed the state’s Commissioner for Economic Empowerment and Job Creation, Uchenna Orji to begin the immediate compilation of the names of the youth who wish to be assisted to become self-reliant and meaningful citizens of the society.

Expressing dissatisfaction over the tactics used by the group in trying to drive home their grievances, Gov. Umahi added that the Federal Government’s proscription of IPOB was timely as it helped in saving the lives of over 12 million Igbo youths and foreigners across the country.

He further appealed to Ezza-Ezillo and other communities in the state to strive hard in maintaining peace in their various localities as the state government was committed to the peace and development of all communities in the state.
