The Plateau State Police Command has confirmed that six persons lost their lives while five others sustained various degrees of injuries after a Saturday night attack on Taagbe village located in Bassa Local Government Area of the state.
The Force Public Relations Officer in the state, Terna Tyopev told newsmen in Jos on Sunday that the attackers whose identities have not been ascertained invaded the village at around 12 midnight and burnt down 10 houses during the raid.
He revealed that those who lost their lives included five adults and a teenager, adding that those who sustained various degrees of injuries were recuperating across various hospitals in Bassa and Jos, the state capital.
The State Commissioner of Police, Mr. Udie Adie who visited the village later described the attack as very unfortunate and assured the villagers that the perpetrators would be fished out and brought to book.
