Former Minister of Information and chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Prof. Jerry Gana has urged members of the party to dismiss the presidential ambition of Ekiti State Governor, Ayodele Fayose.
Gana, who made the call at Tuesday’s meeting of the PDP Northern Leaders Caucus held at the Adamu Maina Waziri Hall of the Ajuji Hotel, Apo, Abuja said the party was committed to maintaining its zoning arrangement ahead of the 2019 general elections.
He charged the party chieftains to elect the best candidates from the north in accordance with the zoning formula of the party which he said, remains unaltered.
He said: “I want to appeal to you to give the party the very best in the positions that have been zoned to us. Let us therefore give to the party, men and women of impeccable integrity.
“Whatever the Fayoses of this world may be doing, the party has resolved that the Presidential candidate will come from the three zones in the north.”
