Dr. Otefe Edebi is a seasoned consultant psychiatrist and a psychologist. He is a hardworking, diligent and committed physician who has done a lot in his sphere of medical practice. He currently serves as the Medical Director of Tranquil and Quest Lagos, Nigeria.

Tranquil and Quest Nigeria is a private premium brand in the provision of various forms of mental health and substance abuse recovery services. It is a branch of a mental health facility with its headquarters based in New Jersey, United States of America.

Edebi is a graduate of the University of Benin Medical School. He holds a Master’s degree in Managerial Psychology from the University of Lagos and he is a Fellow of the Faculty of Psychiatry at the National Postgraduate Medical College of Nigeria.

He is an occupational mental health expert with works, of both research and interventions, cutting across various industries such as banking, oil and gas, telecommunication and Not-for-profit organizations. Dr. Edebi is a member of the Nigeria Chapter of International EAPA, the world’s largest, oldest, and most respected membership organization for employee assistance professionals. He is the visionary behind Healthy Mind Initiative (HMI), a movement that lends its voice to awareness and advocacy for mental health in the Nigeria community.

Through HMI, he has been involved in various awareness and advocacy programs, been on various media platforms and provided treatment to many a destitute with mental health challenges.

It is in recognition of his contribution to national development in the field of Human Medicine & Orthodox Medical Practice (Psychiatry), that Dr Otefe Edebi is deemed worthy to be conferred with the Development In Nigeria Merit Award which is part of the 2017 PSR National Awards.
