The Federal Government has earmarked the sum of N45 billion for the rebuilding of liberated communities in the north-eastern part of the country which were destroyed by years of Boko Haram insurgency.
This was disclosed by the Minister of Information, Lai Mohammed while addressing dignitaries and party members at a town hall meeting organized for military and security agencies at the Borno State Government House in Maiduguri.
The minister said the rebuilding of infrastructure facilities will facilitate the return of over 2.8 million Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) to their various communities and help bring back the 90,000 refugees yet to be repatriated from neighbouring Cameroon.
He said the budgeted fund was specifically earmarked for the reconstruction and rehabilitation of destroyed houses and public structures in the different communities that were liberated by the Nigerian military in 2016.
