The Coalition for Nigeria Movement (CNM), whose formation was inspired by former President Olusegun Obasanjo has created two committees to help it actualize its goal of mobilizing youths and women into leadership positions in the country.
A statement issued on Thursday by the group’s Director of Media and Publicity, Mr. Akin Osuntokun said the two fora were “created to enable the active inclusion of our youth and women, genuinely integrate them into the democratic process and position them for leadership positions across the country.”
Osuntokun disclosed that the youth forum to be chaired by Shehu M. Bello also has Seyi Adigun, Abubakar Sadiq, Abayomi Olaleye, Josephine Owuye, Mary Manzo and Jasmine Onyia as its six members.
The Chief Mrs. Victoria Oviasogie led women forum also has six members including Mrs. Rita Anigbogu, Mrs. Bunmi Adeleye -Ogwuche, Hajiya Safiya Muazu, Dr. Tope Olaifa, Monsurat Omotosho and Ms Rakiya Abba.
He said the two committees will explore collaborative partnerships with the private sector and civil society organizations to empower women and youths to actively fit into their rightful places in the build-up to the 2019 general elections.
