Following Nigerian President, Muhammadu Buhari’s pledge to help the Ghanaian government in its fight against graft, Senator Ben Murray – Bruce has said Buhari should start by proving that he was indeed fighting corruption and not the opposition in his country.
The Senator representing Bayelsa East Senatorial District in the nation’s Upper Chamber took to his Twitter handle shortly after the President made the statement on Tuesday during his speech at the 61st Independence Day celebration of the Republic of Ghana.
“The major challenge facing President Buhari’s anti-corruption war is that for almost three years, it has been delivering activity instead of delivering results. They have been making noise instead of making news. They’ve been practicing propaganda instead of setting proper agenda,” the senator tweeted.
The ‘Common Sense Senator’ continued: “Rather than promise to help Ghana fight corruption, show by example that you are fighting corruption, and not opposition in Nigeria. If corruption is increasing in your nation, you make yourself a laughing stock if you promise to fight it in another nation. Charity begins at home.”
