Minister of Budget and National Planning, Udo Udoma says President Muhammadu Buhari is yet to sign the 2018 Appropriation Act recently sent to him by the National Assembly because he is still reviewing its contents.
The Minister stated this on Monday while fielding questions from journalists at the Presidential Villa, Abuja on Monday, adding that the executive arm of government had a 30-day window to decide what to do with the document.
“The President is currently reviewing the budget. As you know, we have a minimum window of 30 days,” the minister said.
Pressed further on when the budget would be eventually signed, the Minister added: “The President is currently reviewing it and as soon as he is through, he will sign it. That is what l can tell you for now.”
The two chambers of the National Assembly had recently passed the budget which was increased from ₦8.6 trillion to ₦9.1 trillion six months after it was sent to them and transmitted it to President Buhari to sign.
