Chuma Anagbado is an award winning multidisciplinary designer who is passionate about creating scalable and sustainable design solutions through research and collaborations. He is a leader of thought, a design activist and an influencer in the burgeoning African design industry who amongst other interests, co-founded both Aziza Design, Nigeria’s first multidisciplinary design firm, and Mbari Uno, a community-focused centre using design to make social impact through design research, education and development activities across Sub-Saharan Africa.

Chuma has close to a decade of cognate experience in Communications Design, Brand Design, Concept Development, Illustration, Space Design, Product Design and Curating.

He started his career as an Illustrator in the marketing communications industry where he has worked in the capacities of: Graphic Designer, Art Director, Creative Manager and Creative Director.

Chuma is a ‘Design Thinker’ who is passionate about propagating indigenous cultures and creating scalable design solutions for real life problems through research and collaborations.

He is a graduate of Fine & Applied Arts of the University of Benin and holds a Masters Degree in Design from the University for the Creative Arts (UCA), Rochester, UK.

Chuma, a social media and IT savvy persona is also an Oracle Application Developer. He is the founder and curator of NaijaAds; a social media archive of Nigeria Ad industry works.

It is in recognition of his accomplishments in the field of Professional Design Services that Mr. Chuma Anagbado is deemed worthy to be conferred with the Development in Nigeria Merit Award which is part of the PSR National Awards 2018.
