Gunmen on Thursday stormed the home of the Treasurer of the All Progressive Congress (APC) in Ekiti State, Moses Adeoye and shot him dead while he was having a meal.
Confirming Adeoye’s death, the Public Relations Officer of the Ekiti State Police Command, Caleb Ikechukwu said the they have swung into action to ensure that the perpetrators of the act were apprehended.
“The case has been reported to the police and our men have swung into action. We have started our investigation to make sure the perpetrators are arrested.
“We commiserate with his family and assure the people of Ekiti State that the police are on top of this matter.” Ikechukwu said.
Also, the Executive Governor of the state, Dr. John Kayode Fayemi, who is a member of the APC, has released a statement through his Chief Press Secretary, Yinka Odebode, urging the Police to make sure they bring the assailants to book.
The Governor said that his administration would work ceaselessly to bring an end to the rising spate of killings and assassinations across the state.
