The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) on Thursday submitted the name of Nigeria’s Senate President, Dr. Bukola Saraki to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) as its candidate for Kwara Central Senatorial District in the 2019 general elections.
Saraki who was among the 13 presidential aspirants of the party, reportedly replaced one Ope, whose name was initially penciled down as the party’s candidate for the senatorial district.
Before now, some political watchers had speculated that Saraki and some of the PDP presidential aspirants must have fall back positions since their chances of securing the PDP presidential ticket could not be guaranteed.
