The governorship candidate of the Abundant Nigeria Renewal Party (ANRP) in Kebbi State, Alhaji Mustaph Yauri has withdrawn from the race and joined the All Progressive Congress (APC).
Addressing journalists on Tuesday after a closed-door meeting with officials of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) at the Commission’s office in Birnin Kebbi, Yauri said his withdrawal and defection to APC was informed by the good work Governor Abubakar Atiku Bagudu was doing in the state.
While calling on all his supporters to leave the ANRP and join him in the APC, Yauri said he consulted extensively with major stakeholders of the party in the state before arriving at the decision to leave the party.
He added that the APC had every chance to win in Kebbi State and at the national level given its leadership direction and performance in the past three and a half years.
