Mrs. Margaret Mojisola Ayorinde is a woman who has made outstanding contributions to the nursing profession. She is dedicated and committed to providing succor to the sick. She has for over two decades, touched a lot of lives positively. She is currently Assistant Director Nursing Officer (ADNS) and Matron in Charge of the Isolation Ward, Infectious Diseases Unit of the Lagos University Teaching Hospital (LUTH).
She holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing Science (B.NSc), and is professionally certified as Registered Nurse and Registered Midwife by the Nigerian Nursing and Midwifery Council. This quintessential woman also has diplomas in Post Basic Nursing courses on Family Planning, Accident & Emergency, Disaster Nursing, Hospital Administration, Surveillance and Prevention & Control of Acquired Infections.
In her years of practice as a nurse, she has taken up several duties and responsibilities. Her experience cuts across various departments and clinics which include the Medical Ward, Dermatology & STI Clinic, Psychiatric Clinic, Pediatrics Clinic, HIV Clinic, CHOP & Immunization Clinic at the Lagos University Teaching Hospital (LUTH).
She is also a staunch adherent to the ethics and codes of the nursing profession which she demonstrated during the containment of Ebola and Lassa fever in Liberia and Nigeria respectively. She was a member of the team deployed by the Federal and Lagos State Ministry of Health which contained Ebola in Nigeria (2014). She was also on the contingent of ASEOWA of the Africa Union (AU) which contained Ebola in Liberia from December 2014 to May 2015.
Mrs. Ayorinde is a member of the Nigeria Center for Disease Control, Federal Ministry of Health, Abuja, Nigeria. She is also a member of the Nigeria Infection Control Association and Infection Control African Network. She is utilizing the knowledge and skills acquired over the decades to develop the capacity of other health and medical care practitioners through training, seminars and workshops.
Mrs. Ayorinde Margaret Mojisola is happily married. She is actively involved in volunteer services at local and international levels. She is an active member of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) Volunteer Medical Team.
It is in recognition of her contribution to national development in the sphere of Nursing that Mrs Margaret Mojisola Ayorinde is deemed worthy to be conferred with the Woman of Merit Gold Award.
