The Court of Appeal in Jos has affirmed the re-election of Simon Lalong of the All Progressives Congress (APC) as Governor of Plateau State.
The court also dismissed the appeal by Jeremiah Useni of the Peoples Democratic Party and upheld the judgment of the Plateau State Governorship Election Petition Tribunal which had validated Mr Lalong’s victory in the March governorship election.
Jeremiah Useni had challenged the declaration of Mr Lalong as the winner of the election by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) for alleged election malpractices.
