There was a mild drama on Wednesday morning as security operatives prevented Senator Dino Melaye and journalists from entering into the headquarters of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
It was gathered that a camera belonging to a journalist was seized by the DSS operatives but later released when Melaye intervened.
After some minutes of dialogue, the lawmaker had his way and ushered himself, supporters and journalists into the INEC headquarters to submit what is perceived to be an ‘additional petition’.
Melaye, who is protesting the November 16 re-run election for Kogi West Senatorial District which was marred by violence and electoral malpractices said that he would not leave until a National Commissioner came to receive the petition.
