The All Progressives Congress (APC) has suspended the membership registration and revalidation exercise for Delta State.

TheNewsGuru.com (TNG) reports Chairman of the National Registration and Revalidation Committee of the APC, Niger State Gov. Abubakar Sani Bello ordered the suspension.

According to Bello, the suspension stands pending resolution of some issues affecting the party in the state.

The state chapter of the APC has been deep in a leadership crisis with different factions arising from the camps of Ovie Omo-Agege, the deputy-senate president; Festus Keyamo, Minister of State, Labour and Employment, and Chief Great Ogboru.
Stakeholders’ meeting is expected to hold on Thursday in Abuja, the federal capital territory (FCT) to deliberate on the way forward.

The time and venue for the meeting will be communicated later today, according to a party official.

The Delta Chapter of the APC flagged off the party’s membership registration/revalidation exercise on February 9.

However, there have been reports from different quarters that the process that had barely begun is marred.

The exercise was said to have ended in violence after Jones Erue, state APC caretaker committee chairman, allegedly removed some names from the nomination list to favour a faction in the party.
