Gunmen have attacked the Apumiri Ubakala Police Station in Umuahia South Local Government Area of Abia state, killing two officers.

The gunmen stormed the police facility in the early hours of Monday, razed down the station and burnt some vehicles.

There has been a spate of attacks on security agencies in the South East and South South geopolitical zones of the country, which has compounded the security challenges in the two regions.
