A Catholic priest and Vicar of St Theresa’s Catholic Church,Agulu Anambra state escaped death by the whiskers when a band of unknown gunmen at Amansea-Ugwuoba axies on the Enugu -Onitsha expressway last Tuesday night.
The priest, Fr Cornelius Okoye who is now recuperating in an hospital was full of gratitude to God; “I thank God for delivering me from Fulani gunmen at Ugwuoba/Amansea. They shot sporadically at me. “
Recounting his ordeal, he said that “They used knife to cut my body and wanted to open my heart before thunder struck and they ran away. “
At that stage divine assistance came from heaven from heaven, ” At that point God gave me the energy to stroll and saw someone that took me to the hospital”.
