The National Working Committee (NWC) of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has released its schedule of activities ahead of the 2023 general election.
The timetable which was signed by Umar Bature, the National Organising Secretary of the PDP, was officially released on Wednesday after the joint meeting of the Board of Trustees (BOT) and National Executive Committee (NEC) of the party at its headquarters in Abuja.
According to the timetable, the national convention to elect the party’s presidential candidate will take place on May 28, while the governorship primaries will take place on May 21.
The party approved the sum of N35m and N5m for Presidential Nomination and Expression of Interest forms respectively.
Similarly, the governorship Nomination Form is pegged at N20m while the Expression of Interest form is fixed for N1m.
State House of Assembly Expression of Interest form will be sold for N100,000 while the Nomination Form will go for N500,000. The party will sell House of Representatives Expression of Interest form for N500,000 while the Nomination Form is N2m. Senate Expression of Interest form will sell for N500,000 while Nomination Form is N3m.
NEC also approved the PDP Electoral Guidelines for the conduct of primary elections as well as the timetable and schedule of activities of the PDP for the 2023 general elections.
Meanwhile, the party’s NEC also approved a 50 per cent reduction in nomination fees for youths aged 25 to 30 years for various elective positions.
The NEC also approved the date for commencement of sale of Expression of Interest and Nomination Forms to be Wednesday (today) and the exercise expected to last until April 1.
