Nigeria’s ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) on Wednesday ruled out suggestions that it would use the consensus method to choose its presidential candidate, ahead of the 2023 general election.
The decision to that effect was reached at the party’s 11th National Executive Committee meeting which held at the Transcorp Hotel in Abuja.
President Muhammadu Buhari and other leaders of the party transmitted their powers to the National Working Committee of the APC to make decisions for a period of 90 days.
Meanwhile, members of the party who are willing to participate in the presidential primary election of the All Progressives Congress (APC) are to pay N100 million for the nomination and expression of interest forms.
The nomination and expression of interest forms for those seeking the party’s ticket to contest the governorship election in their respective states will cost N50 million.
APC National Publicity Secretary, Felix Morgan, announced this on Wednesday at a briefing with reporters in Abuja.
