Tragic news has emerged as reports indicate that Chief Raymond Dokpesi, Chairman of Daar Communications, has passed away at the age of 71. Dokpesi, a prominent figure within the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), reportedly died in Abuja, sending shockwaves through the nation.
According to preliminary reports, it is believed that Dokpesi suffered a stroke and subsequently succumbed to his condition while receiving treatment at an Abuja hospital. The stroke is said to have occurred following the conclusion of the recent Ramadan fast, a period during which Dokpesi was observed to be in good health. However, his health had been a concern in recent times, prompting him to undergo occupational therapy to enhance his daily activities. Unfortunately, his sudden demise has cut short his efforts to regain full strength and vitality.
Dokpesi’s significant contributions to the media industry as the Chairman of Daar Communications, the parent company of the Africa Independent Television (AIT), will be remembered. Throughout his career, he played a pivotal role in shaping the media landscape in Nigeria and beyond.
