On Sunday, Victor Osimhen secured a 1-0 victory for Napoli against Fiorentina at the Diego Maradona stadium and, in doing so, became the highest-scoring African player in the history of Serie A.
Osimhen’s goal, which came from a penalty kick in the 74th minute, was his 23rd goal of the season. He had previously missed a penalty kick in the 48th minute but made up for it by scoring his 47th Serie A goal and his first from the penalty spot.
As the top scorer in Serie A, Osimhen’s goal sealed Napoli’s Scudetto victory and earned them three points.
