The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) has implemented a fresh traffic diversion plan on the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway to accommodate the ongoing reconstruction work. The Corps Public Education Officer, Bisi Kazeem, shared this information in a statement on Sunday.
As part of the ongoing rehabilitation efforts on the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway, traffic has been redirected away from the New Garage Lagos intersection. Motorists traveling from Isheri Olowora can now pass through River Valley Estate to access the expressway. For those heading towards Lagos, the diversion requires them to drive through Babcock College, located opposite Enyo filling station, to connect to the expressway and proceed into Lagos.
The FRSC spokesperson also provided an alternative route for motorists. They can go through Ojodu and perform a U-turn in front of the FRSC Ojodu office to access the expressways at BRT Bus-stop.
The FRSC Corps Marshal, Dauda Ali Biu, has instructed the FRSC Commands in the affected area to ensure that commuters experience minimal inconvenience. He also appealed to all motorists traveling along the route to exercise patience and cooperate with law enforcement agencies present along the redirected routes.
This traffic diversion plan aims to facilitate the smooth flow of traffic while the reconstruction work on the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway continues. The FRSC is committed to ensuring the safety and convenience of road users during this period.
