Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu of Lagos State has taken a significant step in forming his new cabinet by sending a list of 39 cabinet nominees to the Lagos State House of Assembly for screening and confirmation. The list, a carefully balanced mixture of politicians and technocrats, aims to bring diverse expertise to the state’s governance.
The statement released by the Lagos State Government highlighted that some members of the immediate past cabinet have made it through the selection process. Among them are Mr. Gbenga Omotoso, the ex-Commissioner for Information and Strategy; Mr. Sam Egube, the former Budget and Economic Planning counterpart; Prof. Akin Abayomi, the ex-Commissioner for Health; Engr. Aramide Adeyoye, the former Special Adviser to the Governor on Works and Infrastructure, and Tokunbo Wahab, the former Education counterpart, among others.
In addition to familiar faces, the new cabinet nominees include Lawal Pedro (SAN), Dr. Oreoluwa Finnih-Awokoya, Lekan Fatodu, and Idris Aregbe, who are expected to bring fresh perspectives and innovative ideas to the governance of Lagos State.
