In a stunning political move, Senator Patrick Ifeanyi Ubah has officially defected from the Young Progressive Party (YPP) to join the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
Ubah, who represents Anambra South Senatorial District, was originally elected under the YPP platform during the 2019 elections. He was re-elected for a second term under YPP in the recent 2023 general elections.
The defection of the high-profile senator marks a significant gain for the APC as it seeks to maintain its majority position in the National Assembly.
Ubah, who also serves as CEO of Capital Oil, is one of the most prominent political figures in Nigeria’s Anambra State. His weighty reputation could draw more support to APC within the state.
