Dr Olufemi Oyenuga is a technology strategist with over 25 years of experience in delivering value propositions across vertical organizations, enterprises, and the public sector with a resolve to achieve efficiencies, effectiveness in operational management, and revenue leveraging IT/ICT. He is also a data scientist who leads the Oracle Solution Pattern, as part of the data engineering information management capabilities.
Olufemi who is a medical professional has associated bouquet of degrees from Harvard Business School, Colombia Business College, Imperial College London as well as Pan African University Lagos. He is a certified member of the Information Management Society, Royal College of Engineers and he is a Certified Enterprise Data Miner. He is also an advisory to board members of Data Scientist Nigeria and extends different advisory responsibilities in Africa and Europe.
His experience in the telecommunication sector (BT and MTNN) spanned over 15 years with pitch insight in cybersecurity/security white papers produced on, Enterprise Data Lake, the Internet of things, and business intelligence as well as data sciences (MLAI). He was responsible for MTN Group’s Enterprise architecture blueprint leadership.
He is an avid cyclist, violinist, and hands-on in plumbing skills.
He led the MTN CIO Architecture Review Board which oversaw programs that represented around $260m of Capex budget. As a doctor, he brings not only extensive Telco knowledge to the team but also truly hands-on healthcare, financial, and management experience and now financial services, pivot into a micro-finance bank.
He also speaks Yoruba, English, Spanish, and French.
As Divisional Head of Technology and Chief Digital Officer of the Nigerian Exchange Limited (NGX), the goal is to paint the canvass of the capital market listing, and trading business with revenue-generating deliveries powered by solution and digital innovation, data monetization and infrastructure gateway that provide best in class access for the CM intermediary, ensured partnership with Fintech, RegTech etc.
In Accion Microfinance Bank, he was responsible for the management of planning, staffing, and budgeting of operational areas of the company to ensure appropriate execution of policies and procedures while achieving the company’s strategic business objectives efficiently and effectively. He directed the planning and implementation of enterprise IT and digital systems in support of business operations to improve cost effectiveness, service quality, and business development.
While at Oracle as Chief Enterprise Architect his span of control in Africa engaging both public and private enterprises and interest positioned the organization. He was a key stakeholder with a span of control while at MTNN – a business capability range of >5000 employees and EBIDATA margin of 58%. He created business ventures such as the 2007 SEED 24HC consult in the United Kingdom and Manresa Analytics in 2014 where he was COO and executive partner respectively.
He has pioneered deliveries of projects with Capex and Opex spend of >$460M and transformed businesses with provoking thought around financial services of various Tier(s).
His recent engagements include Digital Transformation Strategies Blueprints for Tier 1 and Tier 2 Financial Services in Nigeria, Ghana, Mauritius, and Kenya, playing the role of Lead Cloud Architect in Equity Bank, KCB, CBK, UBA, Keystone Bank, First Bank, Diamond Bank, FCMB, SBM and GTB etc. He also played the role of Digital Advisory Lead in Uganda and Kenya amongst other transformative landscape initiatives within the digital arena.
He is Oracle Chief Enterprise Lead to Standard Bank Group and First Rand Bank of South Africa.
Olufemi is a global player, who also paints the canvas of giving back to the community through cycling charity support for Polio, HIV, Meningitis, Coloboma, and sports events. He is a renowned conference speaker with deliveries such as enterprise revenue at risk, intangible business assets in London, Spain, Dubrovnik Croatia, Russia, and Nigeria, etc.
He mentors a lot of business startups and universities via the Oracle Academy platform. He is a member of the NESG, THEMATIC Lead Digital Infrastructure Financing – National Economic Summit Group of Science and Technology Group Nigeria responsible for policies optimization and innovation for the Ministry of ICT, DATA SCIENCE CORP MEMBER, Institute of Consultant Management Nigeria – Member.
