Shola Mirian Oluyemi is a hard-working, experienced and upwardly mobile physiotherapist. She is a committed and focused professional with substantial experience in providing comprehensive and high-quality physiotherapeutic care and support services in a setting that promotes health to meet the shifting demands of the general public. She has in-depth knowledge of research methods in Physiotherapy and she is an experienced professional with a demonstrated history of working in physiotherapeutic environments in both private and government institutions.

Shola Oluyemi is skilled and experienced in treating a wide range of conditions, with a keen interest in neurological rehabilitation and a burning passion for continuous learning. She utilizes exercise therapy, manual therapy, chest physiotherapy and a plethora of neuro-rehabilitation techniques coupled with adjunct therapies to enable clients to recover full function. She also possesses the ability to build and maintain  professional rapport with service users, their relatives, and other allied health professionals such as psychiatrists, social workers, nurses, occupational therapists, speech and educational therapists to achieve organizational goals.

Shola Oluyemi’s areas of expertise are Exercise Therapy, Proprioceptive Neuromuscular Facilitation, Soft Tissue Manipulation, Hydrotherapy, Manual Therapy, Electrotherapy, Learning Disability Management and Management of Vulnerable People.

She currently works as a Physiotherapist at Premier Specialist Hospital in Lekki, Lagos. Before now, she was the Lead Physiotherapist at Iduna Specialist Hospital, Apapa, Lagos. She worked with the Nigerian Airforce Hospital, Ikeja during her internship from June 2009 to June 2010.

Shola had her primary education at First Baptist Nursery and Primary School, Kaduna, Kaduna State and St. Bartholomew’s School, Wusasa, Zaria, also in Kaduna State. Between 1998 and 1999 she attended Jarare Summit Secondary School, Lagos.

She gained admission into the College of Medicine, University of Lagos in June 2000 to read Physiotherapy. She graduated in 2008 with a Bachelor of Physiotherapy degree. Shola Oluyemi has continued to acquire knowledge through numerous trainings she has attended in recent years. She has diligently studied and benefitted from online continuing medical education programs.

She has participated in programs floated by the Havard Medical School, Boston, Massachusets, USA; the Rollins School of Public Health, Atlanta, Georgia, USA and the Charing Cross Hospital Radiology Department of the United Kingdom.

It is in recognition of her contribution to national development in the field of Physiotherapy and Medical Rehabilitation Services that Shola Oluyemi was deemed worthy to be conferred with the Woman of Merit Gold Award which is part of the PSR National Awards.
