The National Examinations Council (NECO) has officially released the 2024 Senior School Certificate Examination (SSCE) internal results. This announcement was made by NECO Registrar and Chief Executive, Professor Dantani Wushishi, during a press briefing at the council’s headquarters in Minna, Niger State, on Thursday.
In addition to the results, Wushishi revealed that NECO has blacklisted 21 supervisors across 12 states and de-recognized a school in Ekiti State for mass cheating in two core subjects and one science subject. The supervisors were penalized for various misconducts, including poor supervision, aiding cheating, abscondment, extortion, negligence, and even drunkenness.
Wushishi further noted that 40 schools in 17 states were found to have engaged in whole-school mass cheating. These schools will be summoned by NECO for further discussions, after which appropriate sanctions will be applied.
