Ms. Ayotola Jagun is the Chief Compliance Officer & Company Secretary of Oando Plc. She is a dual-qualified solicitor (UK & Nigeria), Chartered Secretary, and multidisciplinary legal and compliance executive with three decades of experience in local and multinational corporations across several continents.
Ms. Jagun is an entrepreneurial C-Suite leader with an extensive background in Management, Corporate and Commercial Law, Compliance and Business Ethics, Risk Management, ESG, Corporate Governance, and Board-level leadership.
She is a Fellow of the Institute of Directors (Nigeria) and the Corporate Governance Institute (UK) and an Associate of the Institute of Corporate Secretaries and Administrators Nigeria (“ICSAN”). Her leadership extends to various prestigious boards, including the United Nations Global Compact Network Nigeria, the Mirabel Centre, Indie Finance Limited, and several family-owned businesses. She is a member of the CIoD Committee on Independent Directors and the CIoD Committee on Director Development.
Ayotola has served as Chair of the Corporate Governance and Compliance Committee of the Nigerian Bar Association – Section on Business Law and Council Member and Head, External Relations of the NBA Women Forum, amongst other roles within her various professional associations.
Ms. Ayotola Jagun is passionate about corporate governance and its critical role in ensuring business sustainability. Some of the recent governance initiatives that she has been involved in include co-chairing the Technical Working Group on the Code of Conduct for the not for-profit sector, set up by the Federal Ministry of Trade and Investments in Nigeria. She was also involved in conceptualizing and co-chairing the Private Sector implementation of the National Ethics and Integrity Policy and conceiving the development of the Corporate Governance Guidelines for MSMEs in Nigeria in conjunction with the Financial Reporting Council of Nigeria, the UN Global Compact Network Nigeria and the Convention on Business Integrity.
Her passion for governance, visionary leadership, and unwavering commitment to ethical business practices continue to drive positive change. She is a steadfast advocate for Nigeria’s pivotal role in the global community and remains passionately optimistic about its future.
It was in recognition of her immense contribution to national development in the area of Corporate Legal Services and Corporate Governance in Nigeria that Ms. Ayotola Jagun was deemed worthy to be conferred with the Woman of Merit Gold Award.
