Thousands of delegates and top political figures have arrived in Abuja ahead of the national convention of the All Progressives Congress (APC), with 8,534 accredited participants expected to take part in the exercise.
The convention, scheduled to hold in the Federal Capital Territory, has drawn governors, party leaders, and key stakeholders from across the country, signaling the party’s readiness to consolidate its structure ahead of future political engagements.
Party officials said the gathering would focus on strengthening internal cohesion, reviewing party strategies, and reinforcing the APC’s position as Nigeria’s ruling party.
Security has been heightened around major venues in Abuja, with authorities deploying personnel to ensure a smooth and orderly convention. Organisers also confirmed that accreditation and logistics arrangements have been streamlined to accommodate the large number of delegates.
The convention is expected to feature speeches from party leaders, policy discussions, and resolutions aimed at deepening party unity and preparing the APC for upcoming political activities, including the 2027 general elections.
