Edo State Governor Monday Okpebholo has announced the immediate dissolution of all state boards, agencies, and parastatals and terminated the appointments of all political appointees, including permanent secretaries appointed from outside the civil service.
The announcement was made in a statement by the governor’s Chief Press Secretary, Fred Itua, who confirmed the sweeping changes in Edo’s public service.
“It is hereby announced for the information of the general public that the Governor of Edo State, Senator Monday Okpebholo, has approved the dissolution of executives of all boards, agencies, and parastatals in Edo State public service with immediate effect,” the statement read.
The directive also affects permanent secretaries who were appointed externally, with all impacted individuals instructed to return government assets in their possession to the most senior officer in their respective ministries, departments, and agencies.
