President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has signaled a possible political shift as he declared that the All Progressives Congress (APC) is open to receiving the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, into its fold.

Tinubu made the statement on Wednesday during the commissioning of the Arterial Road N16 (Shehu Shagari Way), connecting Ring Road One (Nnamdi Azikiwe Way) to Arterial Road N20 (Wole Soyinka Road), along with several other road projects in the Katampe District of Abuja.

“With Wike, the APC will continue to be in a joyous mood, while our opponents will keep writhing in pain,” Tinubu declared during the event, drawing applause from attendees.

The comment has reignited speculation about Wike’s political alignment. Although currently serving in a federal cabinet led by the APC despite his roots in the opposition People’s Democratic Party (PDP), Wike has maintained close ties with key APC figures since the 2023 general elections.
