Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State has set September 26 as the date for the coronation of Oba Rasidi Ladoja as the 44th Olubadan of Ibadanland.
The date was agreed after a private meeting between the governor and the monarch at Oba Ladoja’s Ondo Street, Bodija residence in Ibadan. The visit marked Makinde’s first official call on the former governor since his return to the city.
To oversee preparations for the historic occasion, the governor appointed Chief Bayo Oyero, a former President General of the Central Council of Ibadan Indigenes (CCII), as Chairman of the Coronation Committee.
The coronation is expected to be one of the most significant cultural events in the Southwest this year, bringing together political leaders, traditional rulers, and indigenes of Ibadan to witness the installation of the city’s 44th paramount ruler.
