Inspector General of Police Kayode Egbetokun on Tuesday arrived in Kebbi State as part of intensified efforts to rescue students abducted from Government Girls Comprehensive Senior Secondary School, Maga.
The police chief is scheduled to meet with Governor Nasir Idris before addressing officers involved in the ongoing security operations. His visit comes less than 48 hours after a high-level security briefing with President Bola Tinubu, which was attended by service chiefs and the Director-General of the Department of State Services.
Security agencies have launched a joint operation to track the kidnappers and secure the safe return of the students, whose abduction has sparked nationwide outrage and renewed calls for stronger protection of schools.
