The Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NiMet) has forecast a combination of rainfall and sunshine across the country over the next three days.
In its latest weather outlook, the agency said southern states will experience cloudy mornings with intervals of sunshine, followed by thunderstorms and moderate rainfall later in the day. Areas likely to be affected include Lagos, Ogun, Ondo, Edo, Delta, Bayelsa, Rivers, and Cross River.
For the North-Central region, NiMet projected mostly sunny conditions with patches of cloud cover. However, isolated thunderstorms and light rainfall are expected in parts of the region as atmospheric conditions fluctuate.
In the northern region, the forecast indicates predominantly sunny and hazy weather, with minimal cloud activity. The agency noted that visibility may be slightly reduced in some areas due to haze, with little or no rainfall anticipated during the period.
NiMet explained that the varying conditions are consistent with seasonal atmospheric changes currently being experienced across Nigeria.
The agency advised residents to take precautions, particularly in areas prone to thunderstorms, and urged stakeholders in weather-sensitive sectors such as aviation to closely monitor updates.
