President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has congratulated Ekiti State Governor, Biodun Oyebanji, on his victory in Saturday’s governorship election, describing the outcome as a vote of confidence in his administration.

In a statement on Sunday, the President commended the people of Ekiti State for conducting themselves peacefully during the election and for renewing their mandate for the governor. He also praised security agencies for maintaining law and order throughout the process.

Tinubu urged the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to sustain efforts towards conducting peaceful, free, fair and credible elections ahead of the Osun governorship poll and the 2027 general election.

The President noted that Oyebanji’s first term recorded significant achievements in infrastructure, agriculture, education, healthcare, youth employment and rural development, adding that the governor’s re-election reflects public support for continuity and people-centred governance.

He called on the governor to remain inclusive in leadership and work with all stakeholders to advance the development of the state during his second term.

Tinubu also commended other candidates who participated in the election, urging them to support the governor in the collective task of moving Ekiti State forward.

The President reaffirmed the Federal Government’s commitment to partnering with the Ekiti State Government to deliver more development projects and advance the Renewed Hope Agenda across the country.
