The Federal Government has concluded plans to evacuate 315 Nigerians from South Africa in its final repatriation flight following recent xenophobic attacks and security concerns in parts of the country.
According to a statement issued on Tuesday by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs spokesperson, Kimiebi Imomotimi Ebienfa, the Air Peace flight will depart South Africa at 1:30 a.m. on Wednesday, July 15, 2026, and is expected to arrive at the Murtala Mohammed International Airport, Lagos, at 6:30 a.m.
The returnees are among Nigerians who voluntarily indicated interest in returning home due to the attacks. The latest flight follows four earlier evacuation operations that brought home hundreds of Nigerians, with the previous batch comprising 40 returnees.
The Ministry reaffirmed the Federal Government’s commitment to protecting Nigerians abroad and thanked all stakeholders involved in the evacuation exercise.
